Pillsbury State Park Details

For an off-the-grid experience in the great outdoors, look no further than this state park. There are several dozen campsites around the park, although most of them are without electricity and even running water (so make sure you are packed with all the necessities and provisions). You can also choose to stay at a "remote" site, which is only accessible by canoe. The land is a mix of wooded forest and marshy wetlands, and you can spend your day canoeing, hiking, or looking for wild creatures like moose and loons. Keep an eye out for the ruins of old cellar holes. In the 1700s, this area was a flourishing lumber and farm town called Cherry Valley, and some of the buildings can still be seen today.
