Bedell Bridge State Historic Site Details

Perched on the banks of the Connecticut River, this 74-acre park was once the site of the second-longest covered bridge in the country. Although the bridge is no longer there (a torrential windstorm destroyed it in 1979), parts of the stone piers can still be seen protruding from the water. During your visit, you can go boating, fishing, or swimming in the crystal-clear waters of the river. There are also a few picnic tables where you can have lunch while enjoying the tranquil surroundings and native wildlife.
