Here you'll find a refuge from daily life, with nothing but 500-acres of peace and quietness around you. Lake Colorado City is an artificial lake that was originally built to supply water from the Colorado River to the Morgan Creek Power Plant and to the neighboring city of Colorado City. However, it's now only used for recreation and attracts thousands of visitors who come to fishing, swimming, and paddling. Hiking is another popular activity in the park, and trekkers will have the opportunity to see over 300 species of birds that live in the area. Spending the night is also possible, as there are numerous cabins and camping spots to rent.
