Nankoweap Trail Details

Widely considered the most strenuous trail in the Grand Canyon, this challenging trail leads to some of the most remote, and beautiful, areas of the Canyon. Accessing the trailhead is also difficult; drive to the USFS Road #610 and take USFS trail #57 in Kaibab National Forest. This is a wilderness trail, and the undergrowth, rock falls, and other trail obstacles make the descent to Marion Point and Nankoweap Creek extremely dangerous. For experienced hikers, however, this is a rewarding trail with spectacular views into the colorful canyon and around the creek. Water is available. It is recommended to take two days to do this hike.
