Deep in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley, this park is a birding paradise. The 230-acre park was established with the help of multiple agencies and organizations, including the World Birding Center and Ducks Unlimited, because of the important wetlands and the role they play with migratory birds. This park has the largest wetlands of the nine different locations in the World Birding Center network. Most visitors come for the exceptional bird watching opportunities and is considered a can't-miss location for serious birders. Over 340 species of birds have been documented visiting the park.
