Estero Llano Grande State Park Details

Deep in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley, this park is a birding paradise. The 230-acre park was established with the help of multiple agencies and organizations, including the World Birding Center and Ducks Unlimited, because of the important wetlands and the role they play with migratory birds. This park has the largest wetlands of the nine different locations in the World Birding Center network. Most visitors come for the exceptional bird watching opportunities and is considered a can't-miss location for serious birders. Over 340 species of birds have been documented visiting the park. The Indigo Blind is a particular highlight - located in the section of the park known as the Tropical Zone it affords the opportunity to see the rarest of birds that visit the park. For those looking for a peaceful escape to nature, the 5-mile network of trails is the perfect space to relax and enjoy some mindfulness with nature.
