Bonham State Park Details
The 65-acre lake is the highlight of this park. Originally damned in 1936 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, the lake has serves as the center of this park. The park offers plenty of fishing and boating opportunities, as well as 8 miles of trails available for hikers and mountain bikers. Two short interpretive trails - Lake Loop Trail and Bois d'Arc Trail - are also available to learn about the park's history and ecosystem. There are 20 campsites available for overnight camping. The hilly terrain which surrounds the lake is known as the Texas blackland prairies region which offers year-round colors.
