Battleship Texas State Historic Site Details

Suited at the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site is the U.S.S Texas, the former Navy battleship which served in both World War I and II. Decommissioned in 1948, it was the first US battleship to become a permanent museum ship, the first battleship declared to be a US National Historic Landmark. The battleship is currently closed as extensive repairs occur. The repairs are led by the Battleship Texas Foundation, which now has operational control over the museum.
