Wilbur Preserve Details
Donated only recently in 2010, the Wildbur Preserve at Cox's Head is both beautiful and historical. A half-mile round trip hike, the moderate ascent up to the top of Cox's Head rewards hikers with sweeping views of the Kennebec River. Historically, though the outline is today barely recognizable, this spot was used as a rock and wood fortification during the Revolutionary Way and later on by militia in the War of 1812.
