Fort Baldwin State Historic Site Details
Fort Baldwin State Historic Site is located in the town of Phippsburg, Maine, a small seaside city home also to Popham Fort and Beach. The Fort itself was originally part of the military reservation that stationed here and is located atop Sabino Hill overlooking the Kennebec River. The original area was home to the Popham colony, established in 1607, and, though the forest has overtaken much of the original site structures, roughly six acres of historical ruins and mementos can still be explored.
