Deertrap Mountain Trail Details
Picturesque and less-traveled than many other Zion National Park trails, this moderate trail descends from its junction with Cable Mountain Trail and crosses the tan Temple Cap Formation before yielding the first of many spectacular views. The trail continues to the head of The Grotto, and reaches a small limestone knoll, from which there are fantastic views of the cliffs and domes around The Grotto and Clear Creek Valley. While many hikers consider this the trail's terminus, it does continue, following a number of switchbacks to the bench of the mountain. From here, there are jaw-dropping, plunging views into Zion Canyon.
