Pa'rus Trail Details
This easy, paved trail provides an excellent introduction to Zion National Park. Getting its named from a Paiute word meaning "bubbling, tumbling water," this pretty trail follows the Virgin River as it winds through a sun-drenched valley. Small groves of cottonwoods, ash, and maples line the lush riverbank, and small signs along the trail point out an old diversion-dam irrigation system, the surrounding peaks, and other facts about the history and geology of the area. The trail is open to bicyclists and leashed pets.
