Lower Terrace Details
Several boardwalks provide you with access to the lower terraces of Mammoth Hot Spring. Major features include the Opal Terrace, which grows by about a foot a year; Minerva Terrace, whose ornate formations earned the nickname of the Roman goddess of artists and sculptors; and the Jupiter and Mound Terraces. Also part of the lower terrace is the conical Liberty Cap formations and the colorful Palette Spring.
