East Entrance Details

This high-country entrance to Yellowstone, by way of Cody, Wyoming, follows Middle Creek through mountain forests and through Sylvan Pass in the Absaroka Range. You'll see Hoyt Peak, Avalanche Peak, Top Notch Peak, and Grizzly Peak along the way before descending toward Eleanor Lake and Sylvan Lake. Look for evidence of the 2003 forest fires that swept through the area west of the lakes. This entrance remains open during the winter.
