Baronette Peak Details
Barronette Peak, located in a quiet corner of Yellowstone National Park, provides a home for mountain goats and bighorn sheep, which pick their way along the cliffs at higher elevations. The mountain stands 10,354 feet high, and was named for an early park guide and entrepreneur. Jack Baronette built the first bridge across the Yellowstone River, easing access to the park; the honor of having a mountain named for him was sullied slightly by the fact that his name was misspelled and never corrected.
