Northeast Entrance Details

Your 29-mile drive from the Northeast Entrance to the Tower-Roosevelt area of the park begins in a deep forest but soon opens up to vistas of the Absaroka Mountains, notably two 10,000-footers -- Barronnette Peak to your right and Abiathar Peak to your left. As you drive alongside Soda Butte Creek you'll pass the hot spring the river was named for before veering northwest along the wider Lamar River, past the Lamar Canyon, crossing the Yellowstone River, and arriving at Tower-Roosevelt. Keep an eye out for wolves as your drive through the Lamar Valley.
