Fighting Creek Nature Trail Details
This short, self-guided nature trail near the Sugarland Visitor Center is a fantastic way of sampling the old woodlands and remnants of the area's historic past. The trail itself is well maintained, and generally quite level with the exemption of the famous gnarly tree roots the Appalachians are known for. Crossing a number of wooden footbridges as it skirts a small stream, the trail also approaches Cataract Falls, a nice, accessible fall that, while not as spectacular as others in the park, are worth a visit.
