Barely long enough to be called a trail, much less a loop, this generally level path leads to a picturesque footbridge that runs raises visitors above the bottom of the 90-foot falls so they appear to fall from directly above the bridge. The origin of the falls' strange name is unsettled; some believe it to be Cherokee for "where the bear passes," while others think it memorializes Junaluska Whank, a man reportedly buried in the area. Regardless, the pine and oak forests surrounding the falls are a popular shady spot to take in truly excellent views of the rushing Juney Whank Falls.
