Luxton Residence Details

The family home, built in 1906 and found on two lots in a residential area of the Town of Banff, was the Luxton Residence from 1907 when Norman and Georgina Luxton lived there with their daughter Eleanor. Norman K. Luxton was known as "Mr. Banff", having founded several prominent Banff businesses, including the town newspaper. He also helped organize many community events, including the Banff Indian Days and Banff Winter Carnival. Eleanor Luxton lived in the house until her death in 1995. The Luxton Residence is listed on Canada's Historic Places and the Canadian Register.
