Boulder Pass Details

The Boulder Pass hike starts out for 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) on a large access road before reaching a landscape filled with lakes and alpine meadows. Once you summit the pass, you'll have a view into a remote corner of Banff National Park. If you'd like to add to your hike, continue on to Baker Lake, another 3.4 kilometers (2.1 miles) down the trail with a 130-meter (427-foot) loss in elevation to the shores of Baker Lake in the valley that lies below Deception Pass. Remember, what goes down must come back up! Another side trip is to Deception Pass - follow the trail another 2.4 kilometers (1.5 miles) and a gain in elevation of 145 meters (476 feet) to the windswept pass. The trailhead for the Boulder Pass hike is found within the Fish Creek parking area off of Whitehorn Road, just 3 kilometers (1.9 mile) north of the Village of Lake Louise.
