Burnmoor Stone Circles Details
The Burnmoor Stone Circles are made up of five separate stone circles and date to around 2,000 BC. Each of the five, sitting on high moorland, contain at least one burial, which is marked by a stone cairn. Within the five stone circles are one known as Brat's Hill stone circle, which contains about 42 stones and is the largest of the five. There are two White Moss stone circles and two Low Longrigg stone circles as well; the entire site covers more than one square mile. The circles are about a mile north of the village of Boot, and it's a somewhat strenuous walk from the village. Visitors can park at Dalegarth Station.
