Baker Lake/Johnson Lake Loop Details

If you love alpine lakes, this hike that takes you around two of the most scenic and beautiful ones in the park will definitely be your favorite. The combination of the two lake loops creates a nice 13.1-mile hike that gains 3,290 feet in elevation. It is definitely for a more experienced hiker or perhaps a two-day backpacking trip. In order to connect the two trails, there is a steep section of ridge you climb over. The top of the ridge offers beautiful views in all directions of the lakes, Wheeler Peak, and Baker Peak. To access this trailhead, follow Baker Creek Road to the very end and pick up the trail there.
