Kennecott Visitor Center Details

Kennecott visitor center is a small station located in the historic general store within the Kennecott Mill Town. Kennecott is located about three hours from the Wrangell-St. Elias visitor center, about five miles from the town of McCarthy. This visitor center offers exhibits, a park film, ranger programs, bookstore, backcountry trip planning, park and area information, and restrooms. There is no vehicle access in the winter and the station only operates in summer months. To reach the visitor center call (907) 554-1105. Operating hours for the station are as follows: Summer (Memorial Day through Labor Day): Open Daily from 9:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Winter (Labor Day through Memorial Day): Closed.
