Montville/Mosca Pass Trailhead Details
Just pass the visitor center is the trailhead for the Montville Nature Trail (a short and easy loop trail) and the Mosca Pass Trail (a moderate out-and-back trail that takes hikers to the base of the Sangre de Cristo mountains). The trails share a parking area, which is a paved pull out located just past the Visitor Center. The nature trail runs along Mosca Creek, while the Mosca Pass trail spurs off about a third of the way along the loop trail. The trailhead does not have restrooms or water, so fill up water bottles and use the bathrooms at the Visitor Center before you set off on your hike.
