Though it's the smallest of all the islands within Channel Islands National Park at just one square mile, Santa Barbara Island is quite sweet: northern elephant seals, harbor seals, and California sea lions can be found here throughout the year. Jump into the water and discover the undersea world and its sea stars, sea urchins, and bright orange fish. Day trips to Santa Barbara Island via Island Packers, the park-authorized concessionaire, are available just twice a month from July to October.
