Torrey Pines Trail Details
Two options are available when it comes to the Torrey Pines Trail: moderate or strenuous. The moderate route provides views of the rare Torrey pines along the flat Coastal Road, while the more strenuous route loops to the top of the pine grove, offering spectacular views of Channel Islands National Park. Park officials say the best route is to follow the loop trail from Coastal Road to the western edge of the pine grove, along the top, and back down the steep, eastern side of the grove. An easier descent can be made by following the road down to Southeast Anchorage, then back along Coastal Road to the pier.
