River Styx Spring Trail Details
Starting at the Historic Entrance, the River Styx Spring Trail leads you through lush forests, along wooden walkways and bridges, and finally to the River Styx Spring. This is where the river empties from Mammoth Cave. In the right light, the water looks bright turquoise and the stone slabs are spectacular where the water pools under an impressive overhang. You can continue to the bank of the Green River; look around you at the incredible girth of the sycamore trees here. This short walk is worthwhile if you just have an hour or two to explore. You can also hook up with the Green River Bluffs Trail, Echo Springs River Trail, or Sunset Point Trail for a longer trek.
