Needles Eye Details

This Black Hills icon is located in the southeastern part of the Black Hills National Forest, on a 14-mile stretch of Highway 87 called Needles Highway. Needles Highway weaves between a series of tall, thin granite spires called The Needles. One of these formations has been sculpted by wind and rain, and years of heating and cooling, creating a long thin slit much like the hole at the top of a sewing needle.
