Lewis Lake Campground Details
Set at 7,800 feet near the South Entrance, Lewis Lake Campground sits just a short walk from the southeast shore of Lewis Lake. The setting is quiet and forested, with easy access to paddling, boating, and lakeside relaxation. A boat ramp is located near the campground entrance, and canoes, kayaks, and motorboats are allowed on the lake. Boat permits and an aquatic invasive species inspection are required before launching. Operated by the National Park Service, all sites are reservable through Recreation.gov. Most sites become available six months in advance, with a portion released two weeks prior to arrival. Amenities are simple and seasonal. Vault toilets and potable water are available during the operating season, along with food storage lockers and trash collection. There are no showers, laundry facilities, dump station, camp store, ice, or firewood sales. Cell service and internet connectivity are not available. Wood and charcoal fires are generally permitted unless fire restrictions are in place, and propane stoves are typically allowed. The campground is closed from mid-October through mid-June each year, reopening for the summer season. Dates are subject to change.
