Explore Yellowstone’s geyser country on two wheels from the heart of Old Faithful. The bike shop at Old Faithful Snow Lodge offers hybrid bike rentals ideal for cruising paved roads and select unpaved routes around the Upper Geyser Basin. While trail riding is not permitted, there are plenty of scenic options for short spins and longer rides through one of the most geothermal active areas on Earth. Knowledgeable staff can help match you with the right bike and suggest routes based on your interests and ability level. Popular rides include the easy three mile trip to Morning Glory Pool, the four mile Daisy cut off to Biscuit Basin, the nine mile journey to Lone Star Geyser with some uphill stretches, and the longer Fountain Flats route for experienced riders. Bikes are rented on a first come, first served basis. The shop is located inside the Snow Lodge gift shop and operates from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, typically from Memorial Day through Labor Day, with limited availability before and after depending on weather. Helmets and accessories such as racks, bike trains, trailers, jackets, gloves, and hip packs are also available for rent. Rates are 15 dollars per hour, 30 dollars for a half day, or 40 dollars for a full day for adult bikes. Child bikes are 10 dollars per hour, 20 dollars for a half day, and 30 dollars for a full day. Bike trains and trailers are available for 7 dollars per hour, 14 dollars for a half day, or 20 dollars for a full day. Prices do not include taxes.
