Artist Point Trail Details
Once thought to be the point from where Thomas Moran painted the famous image of the canyon and winding river in the late 1800s, this natural observation point, although not the site of Moran's inspiration, provides what is arguably the most scenic viewpoint on the canyon rim. There are spectacular views west into the canyon, showing the river snake through colorful canyon walls all the way to the 308-foot Lower Yellowstone Falls.
