South Fork of Cascade Canyon Details
The Cascade Canyon trail forks, and the south fork leads to Hurricane Pass and Schoolroom Glacier. Backcountry camping is permitted in this area, and the trail is part of the Teton Crest Trail, which runs for 40 miles from Phillips Pass to String Lake. Hikers can reduce the length of the hike by taking the shuttle boat across Jenny Lake (tickets can be purchased at the South Jenny Lake boat dock). Full hike: 24.8-mile round trip with 4,500 feet of total climbing. Hike via shuttle boat: 20.8-mile round trip with 4,080 feet of total climbing. This hike begins at the Jenny Lake Trailhead.
