Signal Mountain Summit Details

Lonely Signal Mountain is more than 10 miles from the nearest high peak, which makes its 7,720-foot summit seem even higher and allows those who reach the top to enjoy panoramic views of the Teton Range, the Snake River, and Jackson Hole. Unlike the Teton Range -- which Signal Mountain is not a part of -- this isolated peak was formed from ash spewed by the Yellowstone volcano along with debris left by a retreating glacier. You can climb Signal Mountain via the 6.8 mile Signal Mountain Trail, or drive or bike the five-mile road to a scenic viewpoint just shy of the summit.
