Stetattle Creek Trail Details
This seldom-used trail is perfect for hikers wanting an adventurous, challenging day hike, access to remote climbing routes on the western side of the park, or just a little peace and quiet. The trail is narrow, wet, overgrown, and generally notorious for its poor conditions, but it also climbs along the bright blue waters of Stetattle Creek and passes a number of pretty waterfalls and pools. A hike here also offers a number of opportunities to glimpse some of the park's larger, shyer mammal species. This isolated trail doesn't really go anywhere in particular, and hikers of all abilities should take caution if the trail begins to disappear; that's the sign that the end of the trail is close, and traveling beyond the distinct path can be extremely dangerous. Camping is not permitted on this trail. The trailhead is just beyond the signage for Stetattle Creek on the outskirts of Diablo, at milepost 126 on State Route 20.
