Fisher Creek Trail Details
The Fisher Creek Trail is a long day hike that connects Easy Pass and the Easy Pass Trail to Thunder Creek Trail. Hikers generally access it from the spectacular summit meadows of Easy Pass, and follow the trail into the scenic Fisher Basin and Fisher Creek Valley. The trail climbs steeply, rising above the pass to the rim of the wildlife-filled meadows of the basin. Hikers often report sighting deer, pika, and the occasional black bear in this area, which was once a popular grizzly hunting destination before the big bears were placed under protection in 1968. Fisher Camp is located on the far edge of the meadow, and is the last high-elevation point on the trail before it begins slowly descending into Fisher Creek Valley. Once entering the valley, the trail is surrounded by dense hemlock and fir forests and small, shallow streams. Toward the end of the trail, hikers can view the historic Rock Cabin, an old fur-trapper's cabin preserved as a reminder of the valley's history and the impact of humans on the environment. The trail ends on a picturesque ridge perched above Thunder Creek Valley, near Junction Camp. Hikers can extend the trail by connecting to the Park Creek Pass. You can reach the Fisher Creek Trail via the Easy Pass Trail.
