Pinnacle Peak Trail Details
Pinnacle Peak, the second highest peak in the Tatoosh Range, stretches up to 6,562 feet and is one of the most eye-catching peaks in the range. The trailhead lies east of Longmire and Paradise on Stevens Canyon Road. Park in the pull-off for Reflection Lakes and look for the trailhead on the south side of the road. The moderate trail ascends gently at first and then gets steeper as you climb up to the saddle and viewpoint at 5,920 feet. On a clear day, you can see Mount Rainier, Mount St. Helens, and Mount Adams, not to mention stunning views of the White River valley. Good footwear is a must for this route, which can have a rocky and loose-gravel surface in places, and crosses several boulder fields before ascending above treeline. Keep an eye out for picas and marmots en route. Trail stats: 3 miles roundtrip; 1,150 feet elevation gain; 3 hours.
