Ohanapecosh Details
Ohanapecosh, one of five developed areas in the park, is located three miles north of the park's southeast boundary on Highway 123, and 42 miles east of the Nisqually Entrance. Visitors come here to experience some of the area's most remarkable old-growth forests, where Douglas firs, western hemlocks, and western red cedars inspire awe as they stretch up to 300 feet above the forest floor. Ohanapecosh has a visitor center (360-569-6581), one of only two drive-up campgrounds within the park that accepts reservations (the other is Cougar Rock), and easy access to trails that lead to hot springs and a fantastic grove of old-growth trees, or ramble along the crystal-clear Ohanapecosh River.
