Longmire Museum Details
This small museum offers a good historical overview of the park, the Longmire family, and the Native Americans who once traveled through this area. You'll also find old photographs, and displays of local plants and animals. It's worth a quick stop if you're in the area. The museum is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., July 1 to Oct. 12, and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Oct. 13 through Memorial Day. Wheelchair users can take the paved ramp up to the Longmire Museum and gain easy access to the information desk. Note: Spaces between the exhibits can be narrow. Look for accessible restrooms next to the museum. Come wintertime, visitors can obtain climbing and wilderness permits here. Call 360-569-6575 for more info.
