Christine Falls Details
This beautiful two-tiered waterfall, located on Van Trump Creek west of Paradise and northeast of Cougar Rock Campground, has an upper drop that's 32 feet high and a lower drop that's 37-feet high, as well as a bridge spanning the lower drop. The falls were named after Christine Van Trump, the daughter of P.B. Van Trump, who was the first to summit the mountain in 1870 with fellow mountaineer and writer Hazard Stevens. In 1889, Christine, then 9 years old, hiked to 10,000 feet with her father, despite having a serious nervous disorder.
