Fruita Campground Details
Open all year, the Fruita Campground is the park's only developed campground. As a result, sites often fill by mid-afternoon during the busy fall and spring, so get there early to ensure a site. Site saving is prohibited and there are no reservations. There are 64 RV/tent sites and seven walk-in tent sites. Most sites in Loops A and B are less than 40 feet long; most sites in Loop C are between 40 and 52 feet long. Each site features a picnic table and a fire pit; walk-in sites have a grill instead of a fire pit. There's no individual water, sewage or hook-ups available at the sites, although there is an RV dump and potable water fill station near the entrance to Loops A and B. Restrooms offer running water and flush toilets, but no showers. Handicap accessible-sites are located adjacent to the restrooms. The fee for camping in Fruita is $20 per night, and guests may stay a total of 14 days from April 1 to November 30 and 30 days from December 1 to March 31. There's a maximum of eight people allowed per campsite and quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. There is a group campsite available near the Fruita Campground for parties larger than eight, and beginning with the 2016 camping season, it may be reserved through [recreation.gov](http://www.recreation.gov/). Reservations for the 2016 camping season can be made beginning on February 1, 2016 at 8 a.m. MST. The site fills quickly, so the sooner you are able to make your reservations, the better. The Fruita Group Campsite will open April 1 and close October 20, and it will be closed every Tuesday and Wednesday night for maintenance. The per-person rate will be $4.00, although the minimum nightly fee for the site is $75.00. The trailhead for the Fremont River Trail is in Loop B of the campground.
