Cathedral Valley Campground Details
Cathedral Campground is one of Capitol Reef National Park's two primitive campgrounds. It is located approximately halfway along the Cathedral Valley Loop Road, which traverses the park's Cathedral District. About 36 miles from the visitor center, this primitive, no-fee campground offers six sites, each with a picnic table and fire grate. There is a pit toilet, but there's no water available. The campground is open year-round, but visitors should check road conditions with the Capitol Reef Visitor Center before heading out for an overnight stay. The campground is at approximately 7,000 feet in elevation, in the pinyon/juniper-covered foothills of Thousand Lake Mountain. There are no reservations; sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
