The Capitol Reef Visitor Center is open daily, except for some major holidays, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and offers extended hours in the spring through the fall. It's located at the junction of the park's Scenic Drive and Utah Highway 24, and offers lots of free literature for visitors, as well as a bookstore that carries maps, books, videos, posters and postcards. There's an 18-minute park orientation movie, which is both handicap-accessible and close-captioned, as well as a small museum with interpretive exhibits on the area's history and geology. There are handicap-accessible restrooms, as well.
