Lathrop Details

A well-marked and maintained trail leads gently from one inspiring viewpoint to the next. This is a perfect introductory hike to Canyonlands or a gateway to an epic multi-day backpacking trip. The first 1.6 miles of the trail are on level grassland before arriving at the edge of the slickrock. Continue on another mile for panoramic views and a nice lunch spot or keep hiking another strenuous and steep 2.5 miles to the White Rim Trail. Beware of mine shafts and don't drink from the springs which may have been contaminated during the 1950's mining extravaganza.
