Barton Warnock Visitor Center Details

The visitor center serves as the eastern entrance gateway to Big Bend Ranch State Park. It offers educational exhibits interpreting the archaeological, historical, and natural history of the Chihuahuan Desert, also known as the Big Bend region. Permits for backpacking and camping at Big Bend Ranch State Park available at the visitor centers, as well as at Fort Leaton State Historic Site. The center is named after Dr. Barton Holland Warnock, an American botanist and leading authority on the flora of the Trans-Pecos area and the northern Chihuahuan Desert.
