Tejas Trail Details

This 12-mile trail travels north-south across the park from the Dog Canyon trailhead at the northern entrance to the park off of state road 137 to the Pine Springs trailhead at the southern Park Headquarters entrance off of Highway 180/62. You can hike sections of it, starting from either end, or thru-hike the entire trail as a backpacking trip. The overall journey from trailhead to trailhead gains around 2,700 feet, and is considered strenuous. Most people can complete it in two days, with one night camping on the trail.
