This strenuous 8.5-mile trail climbs 3,000 feet to the summit of Guadalupe Peak, the tallest point in Texas, or "the top of Texas." The trail travels through pine forests to stunning, panoramic views to the south and to the west. Plan six to eight hours for this hike, and bring plenty of water and sunscreen! Park at the park headquarters lot and start from the trailhead next to the campground.
