Rock Slide Rapid Details

Located in the Rio Grande in the Santa Elena Canyon, Rock Slide Rapid was thought to be impassable by early settlers and river adventurists. They have been proven wrong however, and now, navigating the Rock Slide Rapid is one of the most sought after experiences in the park. Even if you don't feel like navigating it in the river, hiking along the Rio Grande until you reach it just to marvel at the house-sized boulders is a great experience itself. Most river tours of the Santa Elena canyon area feature an exciting passage through the class four rapid.
