Roughlock Falls Details
Roughlock Falls is slightly removed from the highway, which makes it an idyllic and peaceful spot. The 50-foot falls tumble over pink limestone cliffs, fed by Little Spearhead Creek. This is one of the most photographed spots on the Spearhead Canyon Scenic Byway. There are several picnic spots tucked into the brush surrounding the falls. You can also explore an impressive system of bridges and walkways that traverse the edges of the palisades. Look and listen for the American Dipper, a songbird that lives in this area and is unique for its ability to walk, swim, and fish underwater. This is a day-use area only; no camping is allowed.
