Norbeck Overlook Details

The Norbeck Overlook on the Peter Norbeck Scenic Byway (Highway 16a) is worth a stop for a middle-distance view of Mount Rushmore, about a mile away from your observation point on Iron Mountain. The straight-on view includes the faces of all four presidents carved into the mountain -- with plenty of room for your own visage in the inevitable selfie shot from here. The wheelchair-accessible overlook is located about four miles south of the intersection with Highway 244.
