Youth Exploration Area Details

The Youth Exploration Area at Mount Rushmore, found along the Presidential Trail, opened in July 2015 and is designed for kids of all ages. The interactive area encourages young visitors to learn about the natural, historical, and cultural aspects of Mount Rushmore and the Black Hills. Park rangers have information on programming, but expect to find anything from animal hides and bones of the animals found in the Black Hills, to rocks typical of the area's geological features.
