Sculptor's Studio Details

Inside the Sculptor's Studio visitors will find Gutzon Borgum's 1/12 scale model of Mount Rushmore, as he envisioned it would look upon completion -- shoulders, chest, and all. The 1939 studio – the sculptor's second on-site – also features many of the tools used in constructing the masterpiece, as well as Ranger-led programs (available during summer months only). Depending on the current security situation, the Sculptor's Studio may be wheelchair accessible from the remote parking area. Check with park rangers in the Information Center.
